REPORTS TO:    Program Finance Manager

SUPERVISES:   N/A

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Processes all end of month closing duties via the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system related to direct Projects within area of responsibility
  • Ensures all direct costs are properly accounted for my performing adequate accruals, stage payment reconciliations and allocations as needed
  • Maintains full knowledge of Projects including budgets, forecasts, actual costs and variance analysis
  • Updates weekly performance metrics and weekly progress summaries for all Projects within area of responsibility
  • Performs weekly and monthly Program / Project Accounting to include inventory analysis and allocations of material, labor and overhead
  • Assists in the review of Cost Performance Reports when requested
  • Creates weekly and monthly reports to provide management with status of Projects
  • Creates ad hoc reporting as necessary
  • Tracks costs from the lowest level charge (Purchase Order or Payroll) to various summary levels
  • Assists Compliance with audit requests from external audit firm or government agencies
  • Maintains a working knowledge of Material Management Accounting Systems (MMAS)
  • Other related costing activities requested by management

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE: 

  • College degree in Accounting- MBA, CPA or CMA preferred
  • At least five (5) years related experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Access required)
  • Demonstrated work experience with an ERP System as well as report writing capabilities
  • Understanding of GAAP and related accounting standards
  • Knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) a plus
  • Knowledge of CAS, FAR, and DFAR, a plus
