REPORTS TO: IT Security Manager or IT Director

SUPERVISES: N/A

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs operational support functions related to Information Security to ensure compliance with company policy and procedures across all business units. Assesses compliance to security policies, procedures and practices for IT infrastructure, information, and internet/intranet connectivity throughout the enterprise.

  • Monitoring of security measures, policies, methods and procedures that safeguard the integrity of and access to enterprise systems, files, and data elements.
  • Provide recommendations for the adaptation of new technologies or policies.
  • Recognize and identify potential areas where existing data security policies and procedures require change or new development.
  • Assist in creation of a culture that promotes Information Security as an integral part of IT architecture and business processes.
  • Provide support for the preparation and execution of all internal and external IT related audits.
  • Support and maintenance of threat management technologies such as antivirus, Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM) and intrusion prevention and activities/processes associated with these technologies.
  • Provide support in the administration and compliance with the company’s information security awareness program.
  • Active role within user IA training and awareness program.
  • Ensure that goals are accomplished and in line with business objectives.
  • Independent problem-solving, task focus, and highly motivated.
  • Ability to handle high-tempo environments, multitask effectively, exercise patience and professionalism during stressful situations.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems.
    • Four years’ equivalent experience in Information Technology may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years’ of IT work experience, with at least three (3) years’ in an IT Security role.
  • Security+, GIAC GSEC, CISCO, or, similar certification.
  • Experience with Incident Response Management.
  • Experience with Information Assurance Vulnerability Management.
  • Experience performing risk analysis and remediation of information systems and networks.
  • Knowledge of the security best practices of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications and network protocols.
  • Knowledge of IT Infrastructure disciplines: data center, networks (voice, video and data, LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, Remote Access Systems), telephony systems, data storage, servers systems (Citrix, VMware, Windows, UNIX), client systems and other personal computing architectures (Android, iPhone, Windows, Other similar).
  • Understanding of networking protocols and principles.
  • Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, DAR solutions and VPNs.
  • Experience with malicious code detection, analysis and resolution
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ITIL, FISMA, NIST, DOD, ISO, etc.).
  • Familiarity with IT audit processes such as PCI, ITGC or SOX.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and DNS.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2008/2012/2016 Server Operating Systems.
  • Working Knowledge of Microsoft Windows 7 and 10 Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with identifying the relevance of security vulnerabilities and respective mitigating tactics and controls.
  • Ability to deliver innovative solutions for problems where there are no available precedents, guidelines or policies by drawing upon prior experiences.
  • Ability to exhibit the following characteristics in everyday work: analytical problem solving, risk identification/mitigation, sense of urgency; sense of accountability; excellent communication (listening and effective speaking), relationship-building.

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

 WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to humid conditions, bright flashing lights, moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, outside weather conditions, and extreme heat.  The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes and/or airborne particles at or below the PEL, toxic or caustic chemicals, and heat and cold.  The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud, + 90 dB.
