AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:


The position of Network Administrator II will be responsible for supporting the IT team with maintaining network infrastructure and related systems while upholding high levels of customer service and communication.
The primary duties for this position are focused on network management which includes maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of the organization’s production Data, Voice, and Network Infrastructure. Network infrastructure for Austal USA includes, but is not limited to, LAN, WAN, VLAN, WLAN, Wireless Bridging, VoIP (IP Telephony), QoS, Next-Gen Firewall, CCTV, NVR, Network Security Systems, Disaster Recovery site connectivity, patch management, system backups, SAN, monitoring, and inventory. Additionally, this position will interface with the Helpdesk ticketing system, IT support entities and the end-user as to resolve incidents.
• Implement and troubleshoot enterprise class IT solutions
• Troubleshoots networking hardware/software problems
• Manage Cisco technology licensing, hardware maintenance, and upgrades including ISE (NAC), SIG, cloud based DNS
• Design and configure network security (perimeter and edge firewalls)
• Configure Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, and access points
• Manage Cisco VoIP phone system
• Design and configure using best practices layer 2 and layer 3 VLAN as well as various routing configurations including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF, site to site VPN encrypted tunnels, remote VPN access, SD-WAN, networking strategies and policies
• Maintains documentation, topology, and inventory for network hardware and software
• Participates in the on-call rotating schedule to ensure 24X7 support
• Participates in the IT Change Management processes
• Interacts effectively with others and clearly communicates verbally and in writing
• Participates in compliance activities that include audit log collection, analysis and reporting
• Maintains network monitoring tools to ensure the integrity and availability of all IT resources, reviewing system, and application logs
• Performs daily backup configuration operations that include ensuring backups are successful and validated
• Add and configure new network services and hardware as required in support of break-fix activities or system projects
• Provides end-user support via telephone, email, face-to-face, and remotely
• Performs after hours’ system support during scheduled and unscheduled outages and performs standard and high vulnerability patching as required
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s Degree plus 2-4 years of experience, or equivalent combination of
education and experience required
• CCNA, Network+, CCNP, or CCDA certification preferred
• Experience managing Cisco technologies including: Firewall (NGFW), Firepower,
ISE (NAC), SIG
• Proficient with Cisco IOS
• Experience managing network backup and recovery tools
• Ability to understand and comply with relevant department and/or corporate
policies, procedures and guidelines as they pertain to company data and
technology
• Experience using performance analysis tools to monitor network
• Ability to assist with developing and participating in disaster recovery exercises
• Knowledge of IT concepts, best practices, and procedures
• Self-motivated individual with the ability to work individually and in a
team environment
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access, Visio, PowerPoint, and PDF software
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge and understanding of ITIL concepts such as Change Management

• The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed
necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
