REPORTS TO:  Production Control Manager

SUPERVISES:  Planning Personnel


  • The PDSS Production Control Manager is responsible for the development and ongoing maintenance of all Post Delivery Project Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • The IMS integrates all aspects of the program from Engineering, Material Requirements Planning (MRP), and production to testing, final acceptance, and delivery.
  • Responsible for the IMS compliance with the company EVMS system description.
  • Responsible for the identification, sequencing, and budget distribution to activities in accordance with the service and/or maintenance strategy.
  • Responsible for determining scheduling logic and duration of activities.
  • Set baseline schedules with regard to workflow, budget distribution, manpower resource loading and long lead time material resourcing within the schedule.
  • Responsible for the creation and issue of production work packages that includes budget and material allocation.
  • Responsible for the development of an in-house Training Program for the PDSS Production Control Team.
  • Responsible for departmental procedural alignment between programs.
  • Responsible for determining installation dates for long lead time material to assist procurement of material.
  • Responsible for setting up process flow and organizational structure.
  • Interact with major subcontractors with regard to the time phasing of work and material deliveries.
  • Responsible for incorporating internal and external change (Drawing Mods and PCWs) into work packages and schedule.
  • Responsible for determining and managing departmental resources.
  • Responsible to assist the program team by providing input into required reporting to the customer.
  • Perform analysis for each project’s critical path.
  • Assist production in determining methods of schedule recovery and cost reduction.
  • Will be dealing with confidential cost data and will be responsible to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Supervise planning and scheduling personnel.


  • Thorough knowledge of shipbuilding construction with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Shipbuilding Planning/Scheduling or 10 years’ experience in ship maintenance/repair.
  • Must be able to lead, manage, and direct the scheduling efforts of the other team members of the program scheduling group.
  • Thorough background in Earned Value Management (EVMS) and knowledge of the EIA-ANSI 748A standard to ensure overall schedule adherence, schedule effectiveness, and system compliance.
  • Familiarity with MIL 881 Handbook.
  • Candidate must possess a thorough understanding of planning/scheduling principles, practices, and techniques to ensure the effective use of Project Management tools.
  • Working familiarity with Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Outlook and Excel) and Primavera P6.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and able to resolve most daily issues without specific supervisory direction.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with the production control of Government contracts

LIASES WITH: Engineering department, Operations department, Production and Project departments, major sub-contractors, Supply Chain and the client as requested by the company.
