REPORTS TO: PDSS Program Finance Manager

SUPERVISES:  Not Applicable

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinating the close out of charge codes and ensuring open commitment closure.
  • Responsible for submitting and logging all financial Contact Data Requirements List (CDRL) documents.
  • Assist with Funding correspondence with Contracts department.
  • Review internal financial document (i.e. Contract Line Item Number (CLIN) Cost Data Report (CCDR), supplemental data reports) to ensure awareness of potential overruns, period of performance expirations, and other potential concerns with funding.  
  • Maintain a charge code log to assist in internal or external department’s inquiries.
  • Track/Maintain/Log all contractual documents from the contracts department.
  • Coordinate close out packages for work completed.
  • Update and compile Project metrics for weekly executive reviews.
  • Track/Maintain/Log/Create Cost Code Corrections forms for the all responsible projects.
  • Provide insight to the PMs on outstanding invoice discrepancies.
  • Provide weekly analysis on Overtime FTE reports to project managers.
  • Provide weekly status on open actions/minutes from weekly cost meetings.
  • Coordinate meetings with internal and external departments to provide project status updates. 
  • Provide motivation, maintain morale, minimize confrontation and encourage positive working relationships with all production and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
  • Must be willing to develop other team member’s skill levels.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • BS or BA degree in Business related field, Industrial Engineering, Finance,                                        
  • Economics, Statistics required with two (2) years’ relative experience in a shipbuilding and/or ship repair or Department of Defense (DOD) contractor experience.
  • Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) preferred.
  • Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents.
  • Able to work independently, self-starting and manage multiple competing priorities
  • Provide motivation, maintain morale, minimize confrontation and encourage positive working relationships with all production and administrative personnel.
  • Must be able to follow directions and work with limited supervision.
  • Must be willing to develop other team member’s skill levels.

DIRECTION EXERCISED: Organize program and task workloads for selected individuals within defined program scope. Monitor and control resources within assigned scope of work and report on progress as required.

DISCRETION EXERCISED: Work autonomously. Resolve moderately complex issues. Escalate most complex issues through department chain of command.  Work within established guidelines and relevant procedures.

LIASES WITH: Program Managers, Project Managers and Coordinators, all Production Departments, Subcontractors, Functional Leads, Production Control, Engineering, Customers, all support organizations across the company, and surveying Authorities,

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:

  • All candidates must meet Austal USA’s basic employment eligibility guidelines:
  •    18 years or older at time of application

o   Able to provide proof of US Person status  (permanent resident or citizen)

o   No felony convictions of theft/deception or violent crimes within seven years from disposition date

o   No felony convictions of drug crimes within three years from disposition date

o   Willing to submit to a drug screen

o   Willing to submit to a background check

o   High School Diploma/GED or comparable trade experience with comparable trade experience defined as five (5) or more years of experience working in the applicable trade, two (2) years of experience in shipbuilding, or, education in the trade comparable to apprenticeship.

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed

necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
