REPORTS TO: Project Managers

SUPERVISES: None

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Effectively interacts with internal organizations to answer action items, resolve program issues, and facilitate good communication.
  • Develops presentations on program status and performance for senior management reviews.
  • Uses Earned Value Management System (EVMS) to compile and provide reports on performance trends by project.
  • Reviews and analyzes cost return information, identifying cost/schedule variances
  • Works with Cost Account Managers (CAMs) to develop corrective actions.
  • Supports the development of CPR and Format 5 monthly reporting.
  • Supports Project Managers, as needed, effectively manage their projects.
  • Resolves daily program and project issues that range from engineering and material issues, to subcontract, finance and resource challenges.
  • Coordinates the preparation of estimates of direct labor and material for new or proposed business using historical or synthesized data for review by management.
  • Develops and implements processes and databases to support the Program.
  • Attends meetings, captures meeting minutes and/or action items.
  • Liaison with Customer representatives for technical issues, to answer action items, resolve program issues, and facilitate good communication.

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 years’ relevant experience in Shipbuilding or Navy Technical background required.
  • BS or BA degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Power Point, Word, Outlook and Excel)
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Works independently, self-starter, must be able to take initiative and follow projects through to completion.
  • Detail oriented and able to resolve most daily issues without specific supervisory direction.
  • Positive and effective experience with customer interaction and relations.
  • Advanced knowledge of LCS Program; familiarity with the shipbuilding

specifications, and contracts are preferred.

DIRECTION EXERCISED: Organizes and executes task workloads for selected individuals within defined program scope. Monitors and controls resources within assigned scope of work and reports on progress as required.

DISCRETION EXERCISED: Work autonomously. Resolves moderately complex issues escalates complex issues through the department chain of command. Works within established guidelines and relevant procedures.

LIAISES WITH: Program Managers, Project Managers and Coordinators, all Production Departments, Subcontractors, Functional Leads, Production Control, Engineering, customers and clients, all support organizations across the company, and surveying authority(s).

ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES: Candidates must be able to provide proof of US Person status. Position requires occasional travel of up to 25%. Must have or be able to obtain secret security clearance.
