REPORTS TO: Program Compliance Manager – Metrics


  • Leads effort to track and status all trial cards for each ship of the program for both Builders Trials and Acceptance Trials; will require significant interface with Engineering, Production and the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, IT Dept and Security
  • Monitors and reports on the status of Warranty in TSM during the warranty period of each vessel
  • Maintains trial card databases the Program and develops associated metrics for internal and external status meetings
  • Establishes user accounts in the trial cards system. Obtain IAA cert and TSM/SAAR and provide direction to IT and Facilities Security depts. to order PKI’s and perform background checks. Monitor accounts until established
  • Responsible for training all Austal and sub-contractor TSM users
  • Communicates and interacts with the Project and Customer representatives as required to track and status all trial cards.
  • Direct point of contact with Navy and customers regarding TCM activities.
  • Familiarity with the shipbuilding specification, and Shipbuilding processes/procedures.


  • 3 years’ shipyard experience required
  • Bachelor of Arts/ Sciences degree in a related field preferred
  • Ability to effectively and positive interact with senior level customer representatives.
  • Experience with US Navy Supervisor of Shipbuilding activities, and/or Ship
  • Repair organizations.
  • Program/Project Management Certification or related coursework is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS).
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Ability to work autonomously and guide the work of others
  • Ability to listen to staff and customers and act appropriately
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, contract specifications, and major equipment specifications.
  • Willingness to work irregular and sometimes lengthy work schedule.


  • Interfaces with company management, administration, technical, design, major subcontractors and production trades as well as customer as related to this Program.


  • Must be able to obtain and maintain required Security Clearance.
  • Candidates must meet the following employment eligibility guidelines to be considered for employment with Austal USA:
    • 18 years of age or older.
    • Able to provide proof of US Person Status
    • No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
    • No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
    • Willing to submit to a drug screen
    • Willing to submit to a background check
