Job Description

REPORTS TO:  Assistant Controller          

SUPERVISES:  N/A

AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Performs entry level accounting duties and tasks to support financial reporting and compliance
  • Prepares simple general ledger account reconciliations
  • Prepares routine journal entries (primarily travel and expense report related journal entries) and posts to the general ledger
  • Assists with month end financial closing and reporting
  • Assists senior accounting personnel to expand accounting knowledge in other areas
  • Prepares reports and supporting documentation for account reconciliations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Finance management

QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university required
  • Major or concentration in Accounting required
  • 1-3 years accounting experience in manufacturing or public accounting preferred
  • Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Exposure to an ERP system a plus

DISCRETION EXERCISED:

  • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to occasionally conduct floor check audits, which requires being in production environment

LIAISES WITH:  All departments, external auditors and management.

  • No felony convictions of Theft/Deception or Violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
  • No felony convictions of Drug crimes within three years from disposition date
