REPORTS TO: Program Engineer
SUPERVISES: N/A
AUTHORITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
General
- Represent Program Engineer in daily/weekly meetings with Purchasing /Production to insure materials related issues are being addressed promptly.
- Track Metrics in MPE/RFM/IFS and report weekly to Program Engineers.
- Ensure consistency between engineering departments in scrubbing shortage reports/WPV/Requisitions.
- Insure MBOMs stay up-to-date in MPE. Run Weekly report to check against issued MBOMs.
- Identify process improvement opportunities
- Ensure material requisitions are written to correct activity codes and correct in yard need dates to support program schedule.
- Assist Program Engineers with metrics development and tracking
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:
General
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelors’ degree in related field preferred. May substitute equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in developing/reviewing engineering bill of materials and integrating with ERP systems.
- Knowledge of raw material and equipment used in shipbuilding
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in PC skills, Microsoft Office Products, IFS ERP systems, BizFlow, Shipconstructor/AutoCAD and advanced skill in Excel.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.

- Computer – Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, PDF Writer, ShipConstructor, IFS
DIRECTION EXERCISED:
- Will coordinate the work of Engineering Technical Assistants assigned to the Program
DISCRETION EXERCISED:
- Work within the defined guidelines and make decisions as required to resolve engineering material issues.
LIAISES WITH:
- Project Management, CAD Integration, Business Integration, Engineers, Designers, Draftspersons, Purchasing, and Logistics
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.
