Job Description
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Fleet & Equipment Management
- Facilitate the maintenance and repair of all company vehicles and mobile equipment (e.g., cars, trucks, vans, carts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts, combi-lifts, omega lifts, truck cranes, SPMT's).
- Maintain accurate records of usage (mileage/hours), age, preventive maintenance (PM) status, and equipment condition.
- Monitor and track equipment by type, location, and utilization on a weekly basis.
- Maintenance & Repair Oversight
- Develop and implement a mobile equipment maintenance plan in IFS, coordinating with the maintenance planner, foreman, and production leadership.
- Schedule and oversee preventive, corrective, and emergent maintenance activities.
- Manage and coordinate contract maintenance services, both onsite and offsite.
- Safety & Compliance
- Conduct and/or coordinate quarterly safety and condition inspections of all company-owned mobile equipment (excluding transporters and mobile cranes).
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate operator training for new equipment as needed.
- Maintain current DMV registrations and insurance documentation for all vehicles.
- Financial & Reporting
- Prepare and manage expense and capital budgets for vehicles and mobile equipment.
- Issue purchase requisitions in accordance with company policy.
- Review, reconcile, and approve vendor invoices with Accounts Payable monthly.
- Provide weekly repair cost analysis and a comprehensive month-end report to the Maintenance Manager.
- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with Operations Support Specialists for Radios and Fuel to ensure operational readiness.
- Provide management with advice and recommendations on equipment purchases, cost-saving opportunities, and operational improvements.

- Perform other duties as assigned to support maintenance and operations.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; a two-year technical degree from an accredited school will be considered with relevant industry experience.
Applicable industry experience preferred (shipyard, manufacturing, car rental company, military).
Effective computer software skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, ERP systems, and CMMS.
Experience working with or for Finance and/or Purchasing departments strongly preferred.
Project management experience preferred.
Demonstrated ability to initiate and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and recommend performance or service enhancements.
Ability to read and comprehend manufacturer’s repair manuals, blueprints, and flow charts.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to accomplish responsibilities.
ADDITIONAL GUIDELINES:
- The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance may be required if deemed necessary in the scope of your position responsibilities.

DIRECTION EXERCISED:
- Assesses performance of contract maintenance technicians.
- Follow safety guidelines to ensure injury-free operation including shutdown if deemed necessary.
DISCRETION EXERCISED:
- Within broader guidelines established by management, determines and executes day-to-day priorities.
- Determines effective work schedule including overtime.
LIAISES WITH: Production, Engineering, other Maintenance crews, Logistics, and Vendors
